I'm Officially Hooked!

  Ok, It's official I'm Hooked! We went out this past weekend to the Auto Club Speedway In Fontana for the NMCA/Hotchkis sponsored drag races and autocross. I feel like every big car show should be like this, from drag races, Autocross, and car show.
  I had the chance to go for another ride-a-long, this time with H-Team member Aaron in the Hotchkis "E-Max" '70 Dodge Challenger. That was such a great example of how a classic muscle car can handle as good, if not better than most modern so called "Muscle Cars" that I can't wait until my El Camino is ready to go through the cones.
  We also checked out the drag races with many of the the cars being street cars, some of which were show car quality. I also ran into a friend from school, whose husband was running in the Outlaw 8.5 class. We happened to catch the beginning of his run as we were coming around the corner by the grandstands & although the announcers thought he might have barely touched the side wall, which he thankfully didn't, he did win the pass.
  All and all we had another exciting day at the races, and we'd like to Thank the "Racing Byrds" for helping put together such a fun event as well!

A Great Day At The Races

  Yesterday i went out with my wife to the Street Machine Muscle Car Nationals at Pomona Fairplex to catch the Autocross action, and to meet up with Erich ('66 El Camino) and happened to also run into Doug ('67 Chevelle ss) both of whom i met at the Motor 4 Toys cars show and Hotchkis Cruise last December.
  This was our first time going to an Autocross event and we had a Blast there, thanks to the hospitality from the TCI Engineering guys. I am currently building up my own car ('65 El Camino) to start entering these types of events myself. So this turned out to be extremely motivating for me! I even had the chance to catch a ride along with Robert Byrd (The Racing Byrds) in his 2010 Camaro.
  This post is going to be slightly different from previous posts because i'm adding a video of the action and pictures mostly of the race cars, and some of the show cars, which i took from my Go-Pro camera, along with several pics from my phone. I hope you guys enjoy these pictures and video!

50th Anniversary of the Goat!

  This past Saturday morning I headed back out to the Automobile Driving Museum, as they were hosting a car show for the 50th anniversary of the GTO. It turned out to be a perfect sunny southern California day. As we pulled up and looked for a place to park, I noticed a great turn out of cars on the lot. We were motioned to park on the far lot just south of the Hot Rod/Car Craft garage where we found what I feel to be a couple of the hidden gems from the show. There was the Yellow GTO I had seen before at the Downtown El Segundo car show last year, and that beautiful blue GTO in front of the red Garage.
  Apparently I just noticed after going thru all the pictures I had taken, I gravitated towards the '67 and earlier models. There was also a couple of non GTO's at the show including the Hurst Oldsmobile, the Chevy Nomad, and '70 Chevelle that was actually the cover car from OPG's 2014 parts catalog.
